The state’s elections commission has reported that over 350,000 ballots were cast in North Carolina on the first day of early voting.
The North Carolina State Board of Elections announced on its website that 353,166 ballots were cast on Thursday, the first day of early voting in the state.
This number surpasses the 348,599 ballots cast on the first day of early voting in the Tar Heel State during the 2020 election.
In-person voting was divided, with Democrats accounting for 36.3 percent, Republicans for 34.7 percent, and unaffiliated for 28.6 percent.
Additionally, the state elections commission reported that 75,133 absentee ballots were submitted on Thursday.
In order to establish an advantage over the traditional GOP advantage among voters who submit their ballots on Election Day, Democrats have encouraged their supporters to vote early.
Vice President Harris has identified North Carolina as a significant prospective opportunity for acquisition this year.
Harris maintains a 48.9 percent lead over former President Trump in the state, with Harris at 47.9 percent.
Despite the fact that former President Obama carried the state in 2008 and President Biden came within one point of defeating Trump there in 2020, North Carolina has historically favored the Republican nominee.
