In a stark departure from the declared pro-life stance of former President Donald Trump, former First Lady Melania Trump has now reportedly announced her full throated support for abortion.
Trump has been attempting to maintain a balance between boasting about the overturning of Roe v. Wade and assuring voters that he will not sign a national abortion prohibition, all the while declining to explicitly state that he would veto one.
He has expressed his opposition to Florida’s six-week prohibition, but he has announced that he will vote in favor of it within the same day.
“It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government,” the former first lady wrote in the book.
“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.” she continued.
Melania, whose forthcoming memoir Melania has been leaking out in advance of publication, has entered the already unstable China market.
Melania has been exerting herself to advertise the new book, which is scheduled to be released on October 8.
