In response to Hunter Biden’s conviction of federal felony gun charges in Delaware, Fox News host Jesse Watters and House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) implied on Tuesday that he is “taking the fall” for President Biden.

On Tuesday, Hunter Biden was convicted of three felony counts for omitting information on federal forms regarding his drug use in order to unlawfully acquire a firearm.

Fox host Jesse Watters asked Comer whether Hunter was taking ‘the fall’ in order to shield his father.

“Well, it sure looks like that,” Comer said in response.

“So, until the Department of Justice takes the real serious crimes into account, justice has not been served. If I listed the top 10 crimes the president’s son committed, lying on a gun application would’ve even make the cut.” Comer continued.

“You know what? He [Hunter Biden] looks like someone that’s got a pardon in his back pocket. People asked today, ‘Will the President pardon Hunter Biden?’ Well they’re not finished, the Department of Justice isn’t finished with him.” he added.

This marks the first time that a child of a sitting president has been criminally convicted.

Last week, President Biden reiterated his stance that he would not grant his son clemency and would embrace the outcome of the case.

Comer also cited Hunter Biden’s forthcoming tax evasion prosecution in California and the criminal referral submitted by Comer and two other Republican leaders to the Department of Justice, requesting that the agency file criminal charges against the president’s son and brother, James Biden.

Hunter and James Biden are accused of withholding information and lying to legislators during conversations with investigators in the 65-page referral.

Nevertheless, the president’s involvement in the aforementioned matters is restricted.

Comer has been a prominent figure in the House GOP impeachment inquiry into President Biden.
