Joy Reid, a commentator on MSNBC who is on the far left, expressed her displeasure on Tuesday night  because she believed that President-elect Donald Trump was exerting pressure on the terrorist organization Hamas to free the dozens of hostages that are being held inside Gaza.

A complaint that Trump was “muscling other countries” on social media, such as threatening BRICS countries — Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa — with tariffs if they moved away from the United States dollar, was made by Reid, who compared Trump to Tony Soprano, the crime boss from the hit HBO program “The Sopranos.”

She then went on to complain that Trump was “demanding Hamas release all hostages being held in Gaza before his inauguration, or there will be, ‘all hell to pay in the Middle East.’”

There are approximately 63 hostages who are still alive inside Gaza after being seized from their homes by Hamas during the extraordinary onslaught that took place on October 7 of the previous year.

Hamas is a terrorist group that is supported by Iran. Several people from the United States are thought to still be alive.

Following the announcement made by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) this week that American-Israeli captive Omer Neutra, who had been believed to be alive in Hamas custody for several months, was killed on October 7, 2023, and his body has been held by the terrorists in the Gaza Strip, President Trump issued a statement on Truth Social threatening the terror group that if it didn’t release the hostages there would be severe consequences.

The attack resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people, injuries to thousands more, and the kidnapping of hundreds of individuals as hostages.

As a result of the strike, a multi-front war broke out across the Middle East against Iranian-backed terrorist groups outside of Gaza.

These groups included Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and other groups in Iraq and Syria.

Iran also fired hundreds of missiles in reaction to Israel’s assassination of several of its senior leaders, which has resulted in the situation escalating into a direct shooting war between Israel and Iran.
