Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, will now reportedly serve as the chairperson of a new subcommittee that will be part of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.
This subcommittee will be known as the Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) Subcommittee, and it will collaborate with the White House commission that goes by the same acronym and will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.
According to a source who is acquainted with the preparations, Greene has already met with the team that will be working in the “Department on Government Efficiency” of the White House, which includes Ramaswamy.
In a post that she made on social media on Thursday, Greene mentioned that she had previous experience managing a construction company.
She also stated a desire to make it simpler to terminate professional government employees, who are afforded a variety of privileges in the workplace.
“In the private sector, if you’re not doing a good job, you get fired. But for some reason, in government, bad employees—whether they’re failing to do the job they were hired to do or working in roles that are no longer needed—never get fired. This is incredibly unfair to the hard-working taxpayers of our country, and it’s about to change.” Greene remarked.
I come from a business background and have successfully run a construction company my entire adult life.

She was removed from all of her committee assignments during her first term in Congress in 2021, when Democrats controlled the House of Representatives, due to previous interactions and statements on social media that involved conspiracy theories and threats of violence against Democrats.
This is a remarkable rise for Greene, who was previously stripped of all of her committee responsibilities.
An additional sign of a ceasefire between Greene and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), whom she had harshly criticized throughout the course of the previous year, even going so far as to attempt to remove him from his position as Speaker, may be found in this development.
When the Oversight Committee gets together to confirm its rules for the 119th Congress, the subcommittee will be officially ratified as a result of that meeting.
