Fox News host Jesse Watters reportedly brutally mocked a birthday card that former President Barack Obama reportedly sent to his “friend” President Joe Biden.
The message contained in it was released after Biden was forced out of the presidential race in a “coup” that was in part organized by Obama himself.
On Wednesday Vice President Joe Biden celebrated his 82nd birthday, which prompted his Democratic colleagues, including President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris, to send him various “happy birthday” messages.
According to reports, Obama had a significant role in encouraging Biden to withdraw from the race for the presidency. He reportedly held secret conversations with Nancy Pelosi, who had previously served as Speaker of the House, on the feasibility of Biden’s candidacy prior to the public push by top party members to make a decision over the matter.
During the month of July, it was reported that George Clooney, a Hollywood actor and Democratic fundraiser, had also met with President Obama prior to publishing an opinion piece in the New York Times that urged Joe Biden to hand over his nomination to another contender.
The “insincere” birthday wishes were criticized by Watters during his Primetime broadcast on Wednesday. He pointed out that Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi notably did not send a public message to Vice President Joe Biden.
He pondered the possibility that Pelosi, who had also played a significant role in exerting public pressure on the president to refrain from running for the White House, might not be invited to his birthday party, which would soon be held at his vacation house.
“The oldest president in history just got a little older. It’s Joe Biden’s birthday. The big 82 for the big guy. And Primetime would wish him a happy birthday, but we have rules here. Men don’t wish men happy birthdays. That didn’t stop Barack Obama from saying, ‘Happy birthday to my friend, Joe Biden.’ ‘My friend who I just couped.’ Kamala also joining in, ‘Happy birthday to my dear friend.’ Sounds so insincere.” Watters said.
“Nothing from Nancy, but she did remember it was Trans Day of Remembrance. Safe to say she’s not getting an invitation to the party at Rehoboth this weekend.” he added.
