Joy Reid, a presenter on MSNBC who is known for her far-left views, has now also reportedly joined the leftist exodus from the social media platform X in the wake of Trump’s victory last week.

The host’s personal account has been deactivated, despite the fact that the X profile for her MSNBC program “The ReidOut” remains active. Reid provided an explanation for her decision to depart the platform in a video.

“Today I finally did something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. The reason for doing it, and kissing goodbye [to] my 1.9 million followers, is because I haven’t been posting for a long time. I just didn’t want to be contributing content once it was purchased by its present owner.” Reid announced in a post to the video platform Tiktok.

“Every so often, I would use it to just look at news that was trending and what’s happening and I would just use it as an aggregator, but I just realized that’s not really worth it. Because in order to do the news aggregation and just look at all, you have to wade through a lot of dreck and just abuse and a lot of negativity, and it’s just not worth it.” she continued.

In recent days, numerous other liberals have also departed from X. This week, The Guardian, a news outlet based in the United Kingdom, announced that it will cease posting on X from its official accounts due to “disturbing content.”

Don Lemon, the former presenter of CNN, announced his departure from the social media platform, asserting that it is no longer a venue for “honest” discourse in the wake of Trump’s significant victory.

Jamie Lee Curtis, an actress, also departed from X this week, although she did not provide a specific reason.
