The White House “respectfully” disagreed with Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) claim that the Democratic party has turned its back on the working class.
“Respectfully disagree with the senator, and I think you can talk to unions, you can see the jobs that we have been able to create to disprove that,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said about Sanders’ statement on Thursday.
She added that both President Biden and Vice President Harris “certainly” care about Americans struggling to make ends meet.
Jean-Pierre highlighted that Biden is recognized as the most pro-union president, noting his efforts in creating jobs that don’t require a college degree.
“The president created 16 million jobs in the past more than three years,” she stated. “And, it is because wages went up, unemployment has gone down and he believes everybody deserves a shot.”
Sanders sharply criticized the Biden-Harris administration after President-elect Trump’s landslide win on Tuesday.
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.

“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,” Sanders said on Wednesday.
“While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right,” his statement continued.
Sanders also questioned if all the “well-paid” consultants controlling the Democratic Party would “learn any real lessons from this disastrous campaign.”
Will they understand the pain and political alienation that tens of millions of Americans are experiencing?” he continued.
“Do they have any ideas as to how we can take on the increasingly powerful Oligarchy, which has so much economic power? Probably not.”
