Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who dropped his presidential bid as an Independent to endorse President-elect Donald Trump spoke about eliminating government agencies.
On Wednesday, he said that “entire departments” of the FDA would need to be eliminated for failing to protect the public, but noted that the actual agencies were safe from his wrath.
“In some categories… entire departments, like the nutrition department of the FDA that have to go, that are not doing their job, they’re not protecting our kids,” Kennedy remarked to MSNBC.
“Why do we have Fruit Loops that have 18 or 19 ingredients and you go to Canada and it’s got two or three?”
When asked by an MSNBC journalist about potentially abolishing federal agencies, Kennedy replied, “To eliminate agencies, as long as it requires Congressional approval, I wouldn’t be doing that.”
“I can get the corruption out of the agencies, that’s what I’ve been doing for 40 years,” he added. “Once Americans are getting good science and are allowed to make their own choices, they’re going to get a lot healthier.”
Ahead of Election Day, he revealed to NewsNation that Trump intends for him to overhaul federal health entities, including the CDC, NIH, FDA, and relevant sectors within the USDA.
Kennedy’s mandate would also involve curbing corruption and conflicts of interest, aiming to visibly decrease children’s chronic diseases within a couple of years.
