In an apparent effort to target both Arab and Jewish voters in the key battleground states, a Republican-led super PAC is reportedly now running contradictory ads in Michigan and Pennsylvania about Vice President Harris’s stance on Israel.
Future Coalition PAC has run numerous advertisements in Michigan that underscore Harris’s advocacy for Israel and imply that pro-Palestine demonstrators “hate her.”
“Vice President Harris has chosen a side, the right side. Harris has made herself clear. She stands with Israel and the Jewish people. She has again and again. She understands the unbreakable bond between the U.S. and Israel.” one of the ads said.
“When supporters of a free Palestine stood up for Gaza, Harris put them in their place. And supporters of free Palestine, they hate her. Because Kamala Harris gets it. We can trust she will always support Israel.” it continued.
The Biden-Harris administration’s approach to Israel and Gaza has been the subject of repeated frustration among Michigan’s substantial Arab American population.
The “uncommitted” movement, which encouraged Americans to vote “uncommitted” in the Democratic primary to express their dissatisfaction with the administration’s policy, has been centered on the Great Lakes State.
On the other hand, Future Coalition PAC in Pennsylvania aired advertisements that implied Harris did not adequately support Israel or oppose antisemitism.
“In Jewish communities throughout America, questions are being asked. Why did Kamala Harris support denying Israel the weapons needed to defeat the Hamas terrorists who massacred thousands?” One of their ads asked.
Cabell Hobbs, a former treasurer of Never Back Down, a super PAC that supported Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign, serves as the super PAC’s deputy treasurer, while Ray Zaborney, a Republican strategist, serves as its treasurer.
