On Monday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) reportedly disclosed that he generated an incredible $21 million in the third fundraising quarter of 2024.
In a statement, Cruz’s team stated that the sum encompasses the funds raised by his reelection campaign, political action committee, and joint fundraising committee.
Approximately $16.2 million in cash is currently in the possession of the second-term senator.
He is engaged in a contest with Rep. Colin Allred (Texas), who has become one of the most well-funded Democratic candidates this cycle, in which the margins are becoming increasingly narrow.
Cruz’s campaign reported that he received 212,000 unique contributions, with an average contribution of $38, including 101,000 first-time donors.
According to the majority of political analysts, Cruz is regarded a slight favorite to return to Washington.
However, the incumbent Senate Republicans face the most challenging contest of their careers, despite the fact that they have a favorable map this cycle.
Cruz is facing a formidable opponent in Allred, a former NFL player and three-term House member.
Despite the fact that Allred has yet to disclose his third quarter fundraising figures, he has consistently been a prominent Democratic fundraiser.
By the conclusion of June, he had amassed over $38 million for the duration of his campaign, having raised over $10.5 million in the second quarter.
