That narrowly surpassed Walz, who was declared the winner by 41 percent of viewers.
It was a stalemate, according to approximately 17 percent of the respondents.
One of the most civil national-level debates in recent history was marked by the event.
There was no personal attacks or name-calling, and the fathers frequently expressed their emotions about their children and agreed with one another.
The survey indicated that the Vance-Walz debate was generally positive for nearly all those who observed it, with 88 percent of respondents expressing this sentiment, and generally negative for 12 percent.
After the debate, CNN conducted a comparable survey that revealed that Vance was more effective on stage than Walz.
Vance, who served as President Trump’s running mate, was deemed superior by over 50% of respondents in the survey, while Walz was selected as the victor by 49%.
Vance’s performance incited astonishment among viewers, according to CNN.
Walz maintained a 54 percent to 45 percent advantage over his Republican opponent in a survey conducted among the same electors prior to the debate.
Vance endeavored to appeal to the middle on the issue, while Walz and Harris dedicated time on stage to elaborating on their positions on abortion and reproductive rights.
The CBS/YouGov poll was conducted on October 1 among voters who had indicated their intention to view the debate in advance. It had a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points.
