New York City Mayor Eric Adams now officially plead ‘not guilty’ to federal bribery charges in court in the wake of the federal indictment against him.

He is accused of accepting over $100,000 in illicit presents in exchange for utilizing his political influence to assist Turkey.

Mr. Adams was prohibited from engaging with any witnesses in the case by Magistrate Judge Katharine Parker. He was released on his own recognizance by the judge, and he was not obligated to surrender his passport.

Mr. Adams provided succinct responses to the judge’s inquiries during the brief arraignment, which lasted less than thirty minutes.

He stated that he was aware of his rights and that he had renounced his right to have the 57-page indictment, which was unsealed on Thursday, read aloud in court.
