On Monday, Rudy Giuliani was reportedly disbarred by a federal appeals court for his efforts to obstruct the transfer of power following the 2020 election win by then-President Trump.
A panel of three judges from the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals determined that the longtime Trump ally should forfeit his legal license.
The decision was made in response to a scathing recommendation to disbar Giuliani from a disciplinary commission affiliated with the D.C. Bar in May.
Giuliani played a critical role in numerous initiatives to assist Trump in resisting the official outcome of the 2020 election, such as contacting statehouse leaders.
In Georgia, he is currently being charged with election interference, and in Arizona, he is facing comparable allegations.
In the federal election subversion case against the former president, he is also an unnamed and unindicted co-conspirator.
He filed for bankruptcy in December after a jury ordered him to pay a staggering $148 million to two election workers in Georgia whom he baselessly accused of committing fraud.
However, the bankruptcy decision was ultimately dismissed, and his appeal of the defamation verdict is currently underway.
Giuliani was disbarred in New York earlier this year for his 2020 endeavors to maintain Trump’s authority as president.
