On Tuesday, a Haitian nonprofit is now reportedly requesting that criminal charges be brought against former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH).

The nonprofit alleges that the pair had incited widespread fear and disruption by making allegedly false claims that the immigrant community in Springfield, Ohio, posed a threat to public safety.

In recent weeks, Trump and Vance have escalated the rumor that Haitian immigrants were consuming people’s pets.

This was done in an effort to attack Vice President Kamala Harris for her poor record on immigration.

The city has been the focal point of a national immigration debate in the weeks since the controversy came to the attention of the media.

The Haitian Bridge Alliance has submitted charges that aim to hold both individuals on the Republican ticket somehow responsible for the town’s turmoil.

The accusations contend that the two politicians made inflammatory statements about Haitian immigrants during rallies and interviews, falsely portraying them as a threat to public safety.

They contend that the rhetoric of Trump and Vance not only caused alarm among residents but also led to significant disruptions in local public services.

Disrupting public service, making false alarms, telecommunications harassment, and aggravated menacing are among the formal charges that have been filed.

A single accusation pertains to Trump’s pledge to deport immigrants, including those who are legally residing in the United States, to Venezuela.

It is unclear if the charges will stand any chance of success against Trump and Vance in court.
