Blaze Media Fires Lauren Chen Over Alleged Russian Ties

Lauren Chen has now reportedly been terminated from Blaze Media following allegations by the Department of Justice (DOJ) that she had misled other conservative influencers regarding the Russian funds her company had been providing to them.

A day after she was mentioned in a federal indictment against two employees of Russia Today (RT), Chen was terminated by Blaze Media, where she had contributed videos to Blaze TV.

“Lauren Chen was an independent contractor, whose contract has been terminated,” Blaze Media CEO Tyler Cardon announced in an email.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Wednesday that the RT employees, a pair of Russian nationals, were charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

The indictment refers to Chen and her spouse, Liam Donovan, as the founders of a company known as Tenet Media, despite the fact that they are not named. Chen is a Canadian-born YouTuber and former RT employee.

The indictment alleged that the Russian defendants collaborated with Chen and Donovan to conceal the “real source of funding” for the corporation, which was identified as RT, a Russian state broadcaster.
