After a gunman opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, on Wednesday morning, President Joe Biden issued a statement condemning Republicans and gun manufacturers and advocating for gun bans. At least four individuals were killed in the attack.

CNN reported that the gunman opened fire, resulting in the deaths of at least four individuals and the injuries of at least 30 others.

A law enforcement source informed CNN that the suspect, who is currently in police custody, is believed to be a 14-year-old male.

Biden issued a statement on Wednesday afternoon, expressing his “mourning the deaths of those whose lives were cut short due to more senseless gun violence.”

“We must ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines once again, require safe storage of firearms, enact universal background checks, and end immunity for gun manufacturers,” Biden said in a statement.

Biden subsequently criticized Republicans for their “inaction” on firearms legislation.
