Michael Moore, a famous far-left activist and director, contended on Monday that it would be advantageous for Vice President Harris’s campaign if President Biden were to resign, thereby granting her the Oval Office before the election.
“Kamala Harris will be in a much stronger position to win if she can run as the President of the United States. As the incumbent President. This will give the country a chance to see her in action — as the most powerful person in the world. She will have three and a half months (as they say, ‘an eternity in politics’) to show the American people her smarts, her strengths, her heart.” Moore said.
On Sunday, Biden concluded his reelection campaign, and a significant number of Democrats swiftly unified around Harris as their preferred candidate to assume the party’s presidential nomination.
In recent days, Republicans in Congress have seized upon the call for Biden to resign from office, asserting that if he is not in a position to run for reelection, he is unable to lead the country. Biden has explicitly stated that he intends to complete his tenure.
Moore also urged Harris to prioritize his home state of Michigan in her campaign, primarily by selecting Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) as her vice presidential candidate.
Nevertheless, Whitmer declared on Monday that she is not interested in the position.
Moore maintained optimism regarding Harris’s campaign, regardless of his previously pessimistic assessments.
“Trump. Is. Beatable. Soooo beatable!! And he knows it. Trump is going to lose because we are the majority. America hates what he stands for.” Moore stated.
“In 2020, after seeing and living through the trainwreck of his presidency, the citizenry removed him by over 7 million votes and sent him packing. Nothing he’s done in the past four years has convinced millions of these voters to change their minds.” he continued.
