President Joe Biden should “cancel the press conference,” according to a former White House press secretary.

Dana Perino, a Fox News anchor and former press secretary to President George W. Bush, suggested that Biden might not benefit from another public attempt at rehabilitation given his recent struggles and apparent cognitive decline, which have been prominent since his disastrous first debate with President Donald Trump.

Three weeks to the day after the debate, on Thursday, Biden holds a scheduled news conference. Perino mentioned that Biden will probably be barraged with questions, for which he hasn’t appeared ready thus far.

“I’d cancel tomorrow’s press conference. Save the embarrassment of the questions he will get. Provide him dignified space to absorb what’s happening.” Perino said.
