On Wednesday, MSNBC contributor Donny Deutsch appeared on Morning Joe to discuss the current unrest within the Democratic Party and the growing demands for President Joe Biden to be replaced at the top of the 2024 ticket.

Deutsch concluded that it’s time for President Biden to step aside in the wake of his disastrous debate performance.

“I guess the question is if Joe Biden decides he’s going to stay in the race and see this through, how do you overcome that? What is the message that could convince Democrats who are worried that he still is the one to beat Donald Trump?” MSNBC host Willie Giest said.

“First of all, I want to say that I believe in Joe Biden. I believe Joe Biden will, he’s always put this country first, and he’s going to do what he thinks is right for this country, and I believe in that,” Deutsch responded.

“Having said that, what wins elections is hope. Right now, Democrats don’t have hope. That’s the ones that you talked about, Willie, as far as anybody you talk to, Democrats’ heads are down. And what wins elections is hope. So the question becomes what gives us the biggest hope? Can Joe Biden restore that? And if not, then the other question is fear.” he continued.

“Fear of the unknown. We can’t… fear loses. And maybe we have to start to look in order to just kind of assess where we are. Everybody’s like, oh my God, this unknown is a bugaboo and it’s chaos. Well, maybe there’s excitement in that. Maybe there’s newness in that, maybe there’s freshness in that.” he added.

“And maybe the narrative for the next two months instead of being, ‘Is Joe Biden okay? Is Joe Biden okay?’ Becomes this exciting new energy and new and that that dominates the narrative instead of is ‘Joe okay?’” he concluded.
