Four days after she was detained for a theft conviction, a woman who had previously worked in child care for the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services allegedly fatally stabbed a three-year-old boy to death in a parking lot in what appears to have been a terrifying act of malevolent, and random violence.

She was subsequently released. She chuckled and smirked when the murder charge was read to her in court.

According to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley, Bionca Ellis, 32, is alleged to have stolen knives from a thrift store in North Olmstead, Ohio.

She subsequently followed 3-year-old Julian Wood and his mother Margot out of the store, stabbing the child to death and also stabbing his mother when she attempted to rescue her son and remove him from the shopping cart.

Judge Nancy Margaret of the Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas smirked and giggled when she proclaimed that Ellis had been charged with murder, aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, endangering children, tampering with evidence, and misdemeanor theft.

Jared Wood entered the courtroom and, it is believed, observed the individual who is accused of murdering his son.

The court established Ellis’ bond at $5 million.
