Republican legislators are uniting in support of a resolution introduced by Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) that aims to forbid House members from bringing or exhibiting foreign flags on the House floor.

The proposed prohibition follows the display of miniature Ukrainian flags by Democrats on the House floor during the passage of a $95 billion foreign aid package.

This package earmarked $61 billion to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia and provide aid to neighboring countries.

As per the resolution, members are prohibited from bringing or exhibiting the flag of any foreign country on the floor during House sessions.

The House sergeant-at-arms would be responsible for enforcement.

There are two specific cases that are mentioned as exceptions: when members wear a lapel button that displays the flag of a foreign country, and when members use depictions of foreign flags as part of an exhibit during a speech or debate, as allowed by the rules of the House.
