The Biden campaign started measuring the drapes of the White House for a second term in light of new reports that the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee has been drained of funds as its fought of liberal lawfare against the former president.
The New York Times writes that “President Biden’s re-election campaign had $71 million on hand at the end of February, more than double the $33.5 million in former President Donald J. Trump’s campaign account, as Democrats continued to expand their fund-raising advantage over Republicans in the presidential race.
The cash disparity was detailed in filings with the Federal Election Commission on Wednesday, when campaigns and some presidential committees had a deadline to file fund-raising and spending reports for February.
Mr. Trump did pad his campaign’s account in February, adding more than $3 million to the cash on hand since January, when he ended the month with about $30 million on hand. But Mr. Biden’s campaign, which ended January with $56 million on hand, added $15 million in February.”
The Hill reports that the Biden campaign, including the president, has been laughing at Trump, believing they will win the long game because the GOP nominee will waste his money on legal fees rather than campaigning.
Election filings made public Wednesday showed former President Trump’s 2024 campaign brought in $10.9 million last month, while his joint fundraising committee raised nearly $11 million. His operation overall had about $42 million in cash on hand entering March.
Those figured lagged far behind President Biden’s campaign operation, which raised roughly $53 million in February, giving it $155 million in cash on hand entering March.
“If Donald Trump put up these kinds of numbers on ‘The Apprentice,’ he’d fire himself,” Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler said in a statement. “But here’s why he ain’t got it: his extreme, toxic agenda of banning abortion, slashing Social Security, and promoting political violence is repelling donors and doing exactly *nothing* to earn support from the voters who will decide this election.”
“Even if he had the money, it’s not a message the voters would buy,” Tyler added.
Liberals have recently been celebrating Trump’s installation of his daughter-in-law Lara Trump into a leadership position at the RNC.
Mediate noted that “on multiple occasions in recent days, Lara Trump has flat out said the RNC will dedicate ‘every single penny’ of its funds to former President Trump. Typically, the RNC assists not just the presidential candidate, but others in close races down the ballot. Carville believes the rest of the ticket will get the shaft from the RNC if Lara Trump becomes co-chair.”
James Carville recently endorsed the move, saying, “Please put Lara Trump over there,” Carville told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki on Monday. “Please steal every dollar you can get. Every one of these Republican state parties — Michigan, Arizona, all over the country — are falling apart, fighting with each other, underfunded.”
“These people want to be stolen from,” Carville said of Trump’s supporters. “That’s the long and short of it. The people that give Trump money or the RNC money are begging to be stolen from. And Trump is going to accommodate them. They’re very blunt and very upfront about what they doing.”

Despite the financial advantages, Trump still leads Biden in national polling.
