Tuesday, Lara Trump reaffirmed her unwavering backing for former President Trump, her father-in-law, pledging to use every single penny of Republican National Committee (RNC) funds to ensure his reelection.
The aforementioned commitment is made in the days following the former president’s endorsement of his daughter-in-law for the position of RNC co-chair.
“That is the goal over the next nine-and-a-half months. If I am elected to this position, I can assure you, there will not be any more $70,000 — or whatever exorbitant amount of money it was — spent on flowers. Every single penny will go to the No. 1 and the only job of the RNC — that is elected Donald J. Trump as president of the United States and saving this country.” she said.
Lara Trump, who has been affiliated with the RNC and party donors since her father-in-law’s presidency, is the spouse of Eric Trump.
If she and Whatley are elected by RNC members, the former president would secure a complete seizure of the committee.
On Sunday, Donald Trump stated that he had also requested his senior campaign adviser Chris LaCivita to oversee the daily operations of the RNC prior to the general election, essentially serving as the organization’s chief operating officer.
According to widespread speculation, the current RNC chair, Ronna McDaniel, will presumably resign following the South Carolina primary on February 24.
In recent months, tensions have increased between McDaniel and Trump due to the former president’s refusal to unequivocally support McDaniel or a challenger in the 2023 presidential election and his appeal for the party to unite behind him.
