According to new reports, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley had a huge fundraising effort in January as she remains the last Republican standing against Donald Trump.
Haley has vowed to stay in the race for president until the Republican National Convention this summer and the haul will likely help her do it.
WBTW out of South Carolina shared the details of their state’s native daughter raking in the campaign cash.
GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley pulled in $16.5 million worth of contributions in January – giving her the best fundraising month of her campaign, officials announced on Monday.
“While Donald Trump blows $50 million of his donors’ money on his legal cases, Nikki Haley has been focused on talking to voters and saving our country,” national spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas said in a statement accompanying the news.
Haley saw $11.7 million from grassroots supporters and added nearly 70,000 new donors. January marked her campaign’s strongest fundraising month and more than she raised in the first three quarters of 2023 combined.
“I voted for Donald Trump twice. I was proud to serve America and his administration. The problem is, chaos follows him,” Haley said. “And we can’t be a country in disarray in a world on fire and go through four more years of chaos. We can’t survive it.”
Trump previously had threatened to “ban” from any future in the Trump administration anyone who donated to Haley’s campaign.
In a post on his Truth Social social media platform, Trump announced those who contributed to Haley’s campaign “from this moment forth, will be permanently barred from the MAGA camp. We don’t want them, and will not accept them.”
Haley is looking for a surprise victory in her home state’s upcoming primary. Polling has consistently shown her trailing the former president by double digits.
