Thursday, a federal jury determined that Rudy Giuliani owes $148 million in damages to two Georgia election workers whom he falsely and repeatedly accused of fraud.
Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, were awarded the sum by an eight-member jury following a four-day trial.
Throughout the trial, the defendants provided testimony claiming that Giuliani’s false statements in support of former President Donald Trump’s fabricated stolen-election claims devastated their lives with an onslaught of violent and racist threats.
Freeman provided testimony on Wednesday, stating that she was compelled to vacate her residence due to threats from Trump supporters stemming from Giuliani’s slander.
After leading Trump’s legal team following his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, Giuliani initially stated that he would testify in the case, but ultimately changed his mind.
