Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Oklahoma) and other Republicans in the House of Representatives have issued a warning that President Biden cannot be impeached or removed from office for any actions or offenses he committed prior to his 2020 election.

A House Republican investigation into the business transactions of Biden’s family, specifically Hunter Biden’s work with foreign companies, during his tenure as vice president under the Obama administration and immediately thereafter, is doused by Mullin’s statement in an interview with Newsmax.

On January 6, 2021, a significant number of Senate Republicans, led by Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), cast a vote to acquit former President Trump of the impeachment charge of inciting a rebellion against the United States.

This decision was based on the technical argument that Trump was no longer in office at the time the Senate trial began in February 2021.

Mullin issued his statement two days subsequent to the House’s party-line vote of 221-212 in favor of a resolution authorizing a formal investigation into Biden’s potential improper benefit from his son Hunter’s business dealings with foreign entities.

The resolution authorized an impeachment inquiry.

Wednesday morning, outside the Capitol, Hunter Biden stated in a defiant news conference that his father had no financial stake in his business.
