Israel declared that its ground operations in Gaza would be expanding significantly tonight, heralding what many believe may be the beginning of a full scale invasion of the Hamas-infested Gaza strip.
Already there are reports of Israeli tanks crossing the border into Gaza in force along with massive firefights.
According to a report from Axios, the decision was made by the Israeli leadership last night.
Israeli Tanks have reportedly crossed the Border Fence into Northern Gaza in at least Two Locations tonight near the City of Beit Hanoun with Heavy Fighting occurring.

As of late Friday, watchers of international data flows as well as the local mobile phone provider in the region reported that the Gaza Strip had lost its already precarious connection to the world internet, another hint that a massive escalation was coming.
As the enclave runs out of gasoline, hospitals issued danger alerts and the US launched additional initiatives to attack militants.
Amid indications that it was about to begin a massive ground assault, Israel once more called on Palestinians to evacuate the northern Gaza Strip.
According to Israel, Gaza’s hospital complex is being used as a command center by Hamas fighters.
In addition, according to the Pentagon, the US military attacked two locations in Syria in an effort to prevent militias supported by Iran from escalating the violence throughout the Middle East.
More than 7,000 people have reportedly died, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, which is under Hamas control.
It also released a list of the names, ID numbers, and ages of those who had perished.
The United States acknowledged the growing death toll in Gaza but maintained its skepticism about Hamas’s numerical strength.
The war began with Hamas bombings that claimed more than 1,400 lives in Israel. According to the Israel Defense Forces, at least 300 of its soldiers have already been killed so far.
UPDATE:
Israel is now claiming that while the escalation and move into Gaza is part of the next phase of their operation it does not represent the planned full scale invasion quite yet:
Today’s barrage of intensified Israeli strikes ahead of an imminent ground invasion – coupled with US calling again for a humanitarian pause – was a negotiating tool to push for hostage releases.
Basically, one last big push to get hostages out before ground invasion begins.
