Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) reportedly stated that he has not yet ruled out running against President Biden in the primary election of 2024.

The three-term congressman Phillips has been considering running against Biden in 2024 for months.

He has frequently advocated for a heated primary and urged other Democrats to enter the contest. On the podcast, he stated that he is “concerned that there is no alternative.”

The Minnesota Democrat claimed that the country is “begging for” alternatives to the two-party system and that both Democrats and Republicans want to see anyone other than Biden and the outgoing president Trump.

Biden’s Democratic primary opponents already include Marianne Williamson and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

However, the president is by far the favorite to win the party’s nomination.

Despite having previously hinted that he would not run against Biden, Phillips stated last month that he would make a decision about his plans for 2024 in September.

However, Phillips did state that if Biden did receive the Democratic nomination he would fully support him.
