This week, President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice has now reportedly come under fire after it was revealed that federal prosecutors are looking into whether Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who opposes the administration, may have received personal benefits from Tesla that the company failed to disclose, according to a new report.
Federal prosecutors are reportedly examining private gains.
Tesla TSLA -1.47%decrease; red down pointing triangle may have provided Elon Musk since 2017 , longer than previously known ,as part of a criminal investigation examining issues such as a proposed home for the CEO.
People familiar with the investigation say that the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has also requested information regarding transactions between Tesla and other entities connected to the oligarch.
The prosecution has mentioned the participation of a grand jury.
The new information suggests that federal prosecutors have a broader interest in Musk’s and Tesla’s actions than was previously known and are pursuing potential criminal charges.
Musk claimed earlier this month that the concept never existed on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter that he purchased last October.
