Following significant changes after Chris Licht’s termination, CNN anchor Christine Romans is now reportedly leaving the network.

After a sharp decline in ratings, widespread layoffs, and Chris Licht’s dismissal as the network’s former president in early June, the experienced broadcaster is departing the network.

Following Jeff Zucker’s departure due to the revelation of his covert connection with Allison Gollust, Licht took over the network. He made significant changes to CNN that did not seem to be in the network’s best interests.

Following the network’s record poor profitability and viewership throughout 2022, Licht revealed in November that staff reductions and paid contributor layoffs were under progress.

Due to the growth of streaming services, the network’s earnings will likely go below $1 billion for the first time since 2016

According to CNBC, Licht warned of network changes that will “affect people, budgets, and projects” in an October message as a result of the economic downturn.

Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of CNN, has given Licht the responsibility of implementing a nearly $100 million in employment layoffs.

Since 1992, the year had the lowest ratings among those aged 25 to 54.
