Elise Finch, a CBS New York meteorologist, reportedly passed away at a nearby hospital on Sunday night, according to her employer.
Finch, who was 51 years old when she passed away for an undetermined reason, was profiled by CBS New York.
She has been a meteorologist for the publication for 16 years, having originally joined the staff in 2007. She started her career as a weekend weather reporter before moving up to the morning news.
“Elise was a gifted and consummate professional who took great care with her work. She was also a wonderful ambassador in the community, including her hometown of Mount Vernon. Above all, Elise was a fiercely loving and devoted mother to her daughter Grace and wife to Graig Henriques, who is a photojournalist at WCBS.” a statement from CBS New York read.
Elise Finch loved music. The song of her life deserved many more verses.
Her gifts were many, and so too the lives she touched.

Jessica Moore, Finch’s coworker, wrote a touching message on the friendship between the two throughout the years on her social media.
