Democratic Senator John Fetterman’s choice to show up to a Senate news conference in a sweatshirt and shorts was criticized reportedly as “unbecoming” by Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Republican from Colorado.
Senator Casey attended a news conference on Thursday to discuss debt limit negotiations while donning a white windbreaker, gray workout shorts, and running shoes.
He stood alongside four Democratic Senators who were all dressed in a suit and tie.
During his tenure as mayor of Braddock and his campaign for the Pennsylvania Senate, Fetterman was known for donning sweats to work.
However, his appearance in the United States Senate wearing a hoodie aroused eyebrows.
John Fetterman redefined Casual Friday on a Thursday morning.
It’s truly unbecoming for someone to show up like that to any job, let alone a job that only 100 people are elected to do.
There’s just no excuse for it.

Since his return from a six-week hospitalization for treatment of clinical depression, Fetterman has been spotted multiple times in the Senate donning a windbreaker and shorts.
In February, Fetterman was admitted to the hospital, and he did not return to the Senate in person until April.
Senator was seen donning a black Carhart hoodie and blue trousers during his first appearance in the chamber following a lengthy hospitalization.
