Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is now reportedly the latest member of Congress to sign on to the “defund the FBI” movement, which has become an increasingly popular and influential position within the conservative movement.

During an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures, the congressman from Ohio who is also the head of a subcommittee on the weaponization of the federal government criticized the indictment of former President Donald Trump and threatened to withhold funding from the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a result of the situation.

“We control the power of the purse. And we’re gonna have to look at the appropriations process and limit funds going to some of these agencies, particularly the ones who are engaged in the most egregious behavior.” Jordan stated.

“So the DOJ and the FBI?” host Maria Bartiromo replied.

“Yeah” Jordan replied

“2016, they spied on his campaign. 2018, the Mueller investigation. 2020, they suppressed the Hunter Biden story. 2022, they raid his home 91 days before an election. And now, the leading candidate for President of the United States in the 2024 election, they indict the former president and top candidate who’s leading in every poll. Just let we the people decide we wanna elect, and stay out of the election process, for goodness sake!” he concluded.
