Authorities in New Mexico reportedly said Thursday that Alec Baldwin would face criminal charges for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust” in 2021.
Hutchins was killed by a gunshot fired by Baldwin.
According to records released by the New York Post in September, the DA’s office had been waiting since October 2021, after the unintentional shooting, to evaluate evidence from an FBI investigation.
After receiving the evidence, the DA declared her intention to press charges and requested $635,500 in emergency money to employ a specialist team to handle the case, including a new prosecutor, investigator, and publicist.
