Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) reportedly announced that he is now requesting the Florida Supreme Court to appoint a grand jury to examine any potential malfeasance related to COVID vaccinations.

The statement was made alongside Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo and other health authorities.

DeSantis made the news during a “COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Accountability Roundtable” on Tuesday morning, the discussion also featured testimonies from those who reported they had serious side effects after getting mRNA COVID-19 vaccinations.

In addition, DeSantis also announced the creation of a Public Health Integrity Committee comprised of Kulldorff, Bhattacharya, Bret Weinstein, and others.

He stated that the new body was formed due to a lack of faith in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

DeSantis argued the move was not uncommon, given legal proceedings taken by states against opioid crisis culprits.

In recent years, a number of state and local governments have struck settlements in response to lawsuits filed against opioid manufacturers and distributors that had a part in promoting the opioid overdose crisis through encouraging the abuse of prescription painkillers.

DeSantis is interested in data from mRNA vaccine manufacturers because he believes they are hiding information concerning negative effects from the vaccines.

Studies associating a rise in myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle, in teens and young adults after receiving the mRNA vaccination have fueled these worries that many of the vaccines may have a significantly higher risk of serious side effects than previously believed.
