As what may be a good night for Republicans in Tuesday’s elections approaches, a left-leaning think group is warning Democrats that they are too radical and out of touch with people.
Based on its own recent polling from Senate battleground states, Third Way, a center-left think tank backed by some of the greatest names in Democratic politics, is warning about deep-seated party issues.
According to the letter, Democrats are ahead in surveys on topics such as abortion and climate change, but they lag the GOP on matters that Americans care about, such as the economy, immigration, and crime.
According to surveys and predictions such as FiveThirtyEight, Democrats are largely anticipated to lose control of the House of Representatives and have lost their advantage in the toss-up for Senate control in Tuesday’s election.
Moderate Democrats like strategist James Carvile having been singing a similar song for some time, as it became clear slogans like ‘defund the police’ were political poison for the party.
Nonetheless, the party has still put forward major candidates, like John Fetterman and Stacey Abrams, who have repeatedly courted the far-left during the primary campaigns.
