A former staffer of Republican Senator Ben Sasse is now claiming that the Nebraska politician is planning to soon resign from his position in order to pursue an opportunity in higher education.
The story originally reported by a news radio station in Nebraska has now been confirmed by Politico.

Reporting from Politico alleges that Sasse is resigning from the Senate in order to accept a job at the University of Florida.
UPDATE: Senator Sasse issued a tweet Thursday afternoon in the wake of the news breaking in which he appeared to hint strongly that news was true and he would be leaving the Senate in the near future:
