Tucker Carlson, anchor of Fox News, slammed media leaders and Democrats who attempted to make political points during Hurricane Ian on Wednesday evening.
In particular Carlson singled out CNN’s Don Lemon and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar for their flagrant attempts to politicize the natural disaster for their own political ends.
Carlson began with Lemon, criticizing him for his awkward recent interview with a meteorologist, during which he attempted to get the weather specialist to say that Hurricane Ian was somehow directly caused by man made climate change. Something the meteorologist simply refused to do.
“Over at CNN, Don Lemon repeatedly tried to link the hurricane to climate change. It’s the first hurricane ever. That’s when his guest, Jamie Rhome, shut him down. Because unlike Don Lemon, Jamie Rhome knows what he’s talking about, he’s the Director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration [National] Hurricane Center.” Carlson said.
He then quickly turned his criticism toward Klobuchar, who he blasted for her comments regarding climate change:
“How can I help the Democratic Party in the middle of a humanitarian disaster? Most people don’t think that way. But Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota certainly does,” Carlson noted “She announced on television that if only we gave her a lot more power, hurricanes wouldn’t happen, because it turns out Amy Klobuchar and her friends control the weather, only if you vote for them.”
“We called Amy Klobuchar’s office today and asked her to come on to explain specifically how she would have taken control of the weather and prevented Hurricane Ian,” Carlson quiped “How would she have done it? Here’s full power, full funding, Amy Klobuchar, tell us how you would have stopped the hurricane. Really, she didn’t respond. She’s always welcome on this show to tell us how she’s in charge of the weather. What do you think, you’re God or something?”
