Following the commander in chief’s dismal debate performance the previous evening, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) reportedly submitted a resolution on Friday requesting Vice President Harris to call a Cabinet meeting and proclaim President Biden incapable of performing the duties of the Oval Office.

“I intend to put forth a resolution calling upon the @VP to immediately use her powers under section 4 of the 25th Amendment to convene & mobilize the principal officers of the Cabinet to declare the @POTUS is unable to successfully discharge the duties and powers of his office,” Roy wrote on the X platform.

The announcement represents the most recent repercussions from the CNN debate between former President Trump and Joe Biden, in which the incumbent seemed to lose his line of thought and stumbled over his remarks, which alarmed many Democrats.

The resolution would not compel the Vice President or cabinet to take any action; rather, it would only convey the House’s sentiment.

”I think anybody with eyes and anybody observing objectively last night saw an individual that is not capable of carrying out the duties the commander-in-chief in a world in which we’re, you know, facing increasing dangers.” Roy said in a statement to reporters.
