On the eve of the ABC Presidential Debate, Lawrence Jones, the co-host of Fox & Friends, provided former President Donald Trump with some advice before the big night. Jones urged Trump to not allow Vice President Kamala Harris to manipulate him into engaging in bigoted or sexist behavior.
The sole debate that both campaigns have consented to thus far is the one scheduled for Tuesday evening, featuring Trump and Harris.
The stakes are remarkably high for both candidates, as the surveys indicate a deadlocked race and this may be the only time the nation witnesses the two candidates face off.
“Donald Trump is in a peculiar situation right now because when you look at the polling data amongst, you know, Latinos, Black voters, you see these gains happening. And there’s a case for all these people saying that they were better off under his economy. You want to keep those voters right there?” Jones said.
“Well, Kamala Harris is going to try to do is get him into this race war, right? To be vicious, to attack her as a woman. Don’t put voters in that position where they have to choose between their economic situation and feeling sympathetic or personal.” he continued.
“He can’t get personal,” Ainsley Earhadt remarked in agreement.
“I’m not saying that it is fair. I’m not saying that — she may not…She may go low and call him a racist on the stage. But his response should be, ‘You said that about Joe Biden too, and you went to work for him.’ So you have to be very strategic at that, because they want ads of him eviscerating her from her personality and her being a woman.” Jones concluded.
